Christian Education is for everyone. We may be seeking, questioning, exploring new ways of thinking about God, or comfortable with our understanding of, and faith in, God. Christian Education encourages spiritual growth.
At Trinity-Clifton there are numerous opportunities for adults to meet for discussion and study.
Some of the groups planned for this fall include:
October 4-November 8, 2016 – “Saving Jesus”. Tuesdays at noon (bring your lunch, tea and coffee provided) come and join a host of experts (by video) for a conversation around the relevance of Jesus for the 21st century. This group will continue in the winter.
October 2016 – Thursday evenings come and learn, discuss and ponder the changes taking place in the structure of the United Church of Canada and the remits related to this topic.
November 15-December 6, 2016 on Tuesday evenings will be a chance to step back and focus on Advent and this important time our life of faith.
Watch the church Facebook page for updates on these and other adult groups.
Sunday School: We have a large and lively Sunday School for children from Preschool to Grade 12 with many committed, creative teachers. All ages experience Godly Play, a biblical story based exploration of scripture. This is combined with a rotation model based on Power Xpress, and Season’s of the Spirit in graded classes. Children attend the beginning of the worship service at 10:30 and go out to Sunday School following the Children’s Time at the front of the church.
Youth : Trinity is blessed to have an active youth class within their Sunday School program. This group for Grades 7-12 meet independently, during worship on Sundays. The Seasons of the Spirit curriculum is used as a starting point for this group as together they explore faith topics that relate to their own life experiences.
Confirmation: Teens wishing to dialogue about faith issues and church membership are invited to attend confirmation events. We gather with other United Church youth in the area to share in the journey. Usually, confirmation classes take place between January and May with confirmation taking place in June. Every so often we offer confirmation classes for adults. Contact Rev. Greg Davis for more information.
