Uppity Women of the Bible

This fall’s Tuesday morning study series will be “Uppity Women of the Bible”, a study from Living the Questions.

Uppity Women of the Bible is a DVD-based series featuring Hebrew Bible professor Dr. Lisa Wolfe. Combining careful scholarship with humor and fresh insights, Dr. Wolfe presents information for a lively, thoughtful discussion of Ruth.

The study will begin on Tuesday, October 3rd at 12:00 pm and will continue for seven weeks.

The format of our gathering will be as follows: 1. View a short lecture by Dr. Wolfe.  2.  Discuss our thoughts and insights about the lecture and readings.

Gala Dinner – September 30 2017

Gala Dinner: Sat., Sept. 30. Tickets are now available for Trinity-Clifton’s ninth annual Gala Fundraising dinner and will be for sale at the Richmond Street doors after today’s service. A five-course dinner will be served, dinner entertainment provided and a silent auction and limited live auction will cap off the evening. Tickets cost $60 per person with a tax receipt to be provided. We encourage you to think creatively as to how you may contribute to the auction. Would you be willing to host a coffee party, a luncheon, a dinner for six in your home? Perhaps you have other interesting ideas for the auction team? If so, please contact Diana and Norman Carruthers at 902-566-3007.

Plant Sale Saturday May 27, 2017, 8:00 am to 11:00 am

It is time to think of Trinity-Clifton’s Annual Plant Sale coming up on May 27th.
This year’s sale will again include the UCW’s bake sale as well as a book sale featuring Fiction, Cooking and GARDENING Books.
If your plants are getting overgrown, it’s time to divide them and share. Please bring all donations to the church on Friday, May 26th

Prayer Bench

Our lives are busy, we long for times of refreshment.  Rev. Janice MacLean specializes in providing spiritual opportunities to be mindful of God’s presence.  The site below is called “Prayer Bench”.

This spring some Trinity-Clifton folk are beginning a journey with Janice by receiving morning readings, pictures, etc … a time to be mindful of God’s presence in our lives.  Although the journey starts May 1, you can still join the journey by contacting Greg at gcdavis@eastlink.ca.

Janice offers programs throughout the year.  Keep tuned to her website “Prayer Bench” so as not to miss an opportunity for spiritual growth.  Blessing as you journey.

March 22 – Trinity United – Stations 7, 8 – Jesus falls the second time; Jesus meets the women of Jerusalem
March 29 – First Baptist – Stations 9, 10 – Jesus falls the third time; Jesus is stripped of his garments
April 5 – Central Christian – Stations 11, 12 – Crucifixion: Jesus is nailed to the cross; Jesus dies on the cross
April 12 – 7 pm – St. Dunstan’s – Stations 13, 14 – Jesus is taken down from the cross; Jesus is laid in the tomb.
