I was born in Charlottetown, and into the United Church of Canada. I had the privilege of being shaped by people and activities at Trinity, Spring Park and Park Royal. Drawn to ministry at a young age, I studied at Mt Allison University and Queens Theological College. After ordination in 1986 I was settled in Saskatchewan and soon grew to love the people, the land and the church of the prairies. After 11 years in SK I was beckoned back to the Maritimes by family and salt waters, accepting a call to Cornwall Pastoral Charge (now West River United). I have also ministered with pastoral charges in Sherbrooke, Qc, Hantsport, NS, and Bedeque North in PEI. I retired in 2019 and now my partner Pix and I are enjoying living in our cottage home in Argyle Shore PEI.

This Sunday is the first Sunday of Advent!
We’re very pleased that Rev. Dr. Dave Csinos will be with us as we enter this special time of the church year. Our guest soloist for Sunday is Gaige Waugh.
Here’s a little more about Dave :Dr. Csinos is Associate Professor of Practical Theology at the Atlantic School of Theology in Halifax. At AST he teaches homiletics, religious education, and ethnographic theology.
Dr. Csinos earned a PhD in practical theology (University of St. Michael’s College, Toronto); a ThM in Christian education (Union Presbyterian Seminary, Richmond); an MTS in Christian ministry (McMaster University, Hamilton), and a BA in religion and culture (Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo). He researches, teaches, and writes widely about faith formation, homiletics, children’s and youth ministry, intergenerational ministry, and culture. Dr. Csinos serves as founder and president of Faith Forward, an ecumenical organization for innovation in ministry with children, youth, and families. With Faith Forward, he has organized five international conferences and currently hosts a podcast about progressive approaches to faith formation with young people. He is a regular speaker on topics such as children and youth, intergenerational ministry, faith formation, intercultural ministry, social justice, and ministry innovation at churches, conferences, and universities throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, South America, Australia, and New Zealand. Dr. Csinos serves as book review editor for Religious Education.

We’re looking forward to welcoming Rev. John Moses back to Trinity this coming Sunday, November 20, 10:30 am, for our Anniversary Service. Special guest soloist is Jacques Arsenault, who will be singing some of the finest music of the upcoming season : Every Valley from Handel’s Messiah.
Rev. John Moses served as minister of Trinity United Church, Charlottetown, from 2007 to 2015.
Among other things, he played a key role in Trinity’s becoming an affirming congregation in 2015.
He was also keenly interested in community outreach and the enjoyed the ecumenical fellowship of the Prince Street churches.
John has served congregations in Newfoundland, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Ontario and Quebec, as well as PEI.
He is presently serving as minister of Aylesford United Church in Nova Scotia’s beautiful Annapolis Valley.
John was a member of the Theology and Faith Committee which wrote a Song of Faith, a contemporary faith statement approved by the General Council in 2006 and has been a regular contributor to Gathering, the United Church’s worship magazine. He is chair of the Licensing Committee of the United Church’s Region 15 (Nova Scotia and Bermuda).
He is is married to Jane Caines-Moses. They have four adult children and four grandsons.

We welcome Bob back to Trinity United, Charlottetown for November 13 worship. Rev. Bob was our Minister of Worship for many years in the early 2000’s. He came to Trinity from Rideau Park United, Ottawa. Bob is currently serving as Minister of Visitation at Trinity United Church, Summerside.
Here’s a bit more about Bob :
My wife, Sally and I live in Coleman, about 50km west of Summerside. We enjoy living in the country after being in cities most of our lives. We take great pleasure in being the parents of two sons and a daughter and grandparents of six outstanding grandchildren – 3 boys and 3 girls. We take every opportunity we can to be in touch with them.
We look forward to welcoming Bob and Sally back to Trinity on Sunday, November 13!

Roast Pork Loin Take-out Dinner – June 18, 2022
On Sat., June 18, Trinity- Clifton United Church will be having a Roast Pork Loin Take-out Dinner with all the trimmings prepared by Chef Emily Wells. Carrot Cake is included for dessert. Tickets ($25 with a tax receipt available) may be ordered by calling the church office by June 13 (902-892-4114) or by email at trinityunited@eastlink.ca Tickets are to be picked up on Wed., June 8, 10 am – noon or Fri.,
June 10, noon – 2 pm. Payment by cash, cheque, Visa or Mastercard. Dinners can be picked up at the Sydney Street door on June 18 at 4:30 or 5 pm, depending on your stated preference when you ordered your ticket. Just drive up to the door with your ticket and the dinner will be brought to your car. Tickets will also be available for members of the congregation to purchase after the Trinity service on May 22 & 29, June 5 & 12, and after the Clifton service on June 12. Taking advantage of this opportunity will be helpful in reducing the extra workload for the office administrator.
